Personal tax
Personal tax returns, done properly, from $285 + GST
Your tax return prepared by a chartered accountant. Rental properties, shares, capital gains and family trusts included, with a fixed price before we start and the same accountant every year. Lodging through us also usually gives you until May rather than 31 October.
What’s included
Your return, prepared and lodged
Prepared by a chartered accountant and lodged by a registered tax agent (TPB registration 24767487), with the ATO’s pre-filled income checked against your own records rather than accepted as is.
Deductions you’re actually entitled to
Work-related expenses, working from home, vehicle and travel, self-education, donations and income protection, claimed properly and with the records to back them up if the ATO asks.
Rental properties
Interest, rates, repairs versus improvements, depreciation, and what changes when a property was once your home. We keep your property schedules year to year so nothing is missed.
Shares, managed funds and crypto
Dividends and franking credits, managed fund tax statements, and the capital gains on anything you sold, including the 12-month discount.
Advice, not just data entry
If something you’re planning (selling a property, salary sacrificing, starting a side business) changes your tax, we tell you before it happens, not after.
The same accountant next year
You deal with one of our chartered accountants, who keeps your file and knows your history when you come back.

Where you might be right now
You’ve bought your first investment property
The first year is where most mistakes happen: borrowing costs, the depreciation schedule, initial repairs that are actually capital. Getting it right sets up every year after.
You’re selling a property or shares
The capital gains tax bill depends on timing, your other income and what records you have. Talk to us before you sign the contract and we’ll work out the tax in advance.
You’ve fallen behind on lodging
It happens. We prepare the missing years, deal with the ATO, and get you back on track without a lecture.
Your affairs have grown more complicated
A rental property, a share portfolio, a family trust, a side business and an SMSF. A self-lodged return doesn’t cope well with that, and a chartered accountant who sees the whole picture can.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a tax return cost?
An individual return starts at $285 + GST, including rental properties, shares and managed funds. We tell you the fixed price before we start, so there’s no bill you didn’t expect. Our fee for preparing your return is itself tax deductible the following year.
When is my tax return due?
If you lodge yourself, 31 October. If you’re on a registered tax agent’s list before 31 October, you usually get until the following May. If you have outstanding returns from earlier years, the ATO can require earlier lodgement, so talk to us first.
I haven’t lodged for a few years. What happens now?
We pull your income records from the ATO, prepare the missing years, claim any refunds you were owed, and deal with the ATO about penalties if you owe. The sooner it’s done, the better the outcome usually is.
What do I need to bring?
Your myGov details or last year’s return, receipts or a list of work-related expenses, rental property statements from your agent, loan statements, and any share or crypto sale details. We pre-fill what we can from the ATO, so you don’t need your income statement.
Can you do my return without me coming in?
Yes. You can do the whole thing through the client portal, with documents uploaded from your phone and the return signed electronically. Come in to Penrith or Richmond if you’d rather sit down with someone.
I’ve sold an investment property. How much tax will I pay?
It depends on how long you held it, what you paid, what you spent on it, whether it was ever your home, and your other income that year. The capital gains tax discount generally halves the gain if you held it for more than 12 months. Talk to us before you sell if you can, because timing matters.
Do I need a family trust?
Not always. A trust can share investment or business income across the family and protect assets, but it costs money to run and has its own rules. We’ll tell you whether it’s worth it for your income and plans.
